Emma's Visit

Emma Who Just Turned Four came by to see Thokki for the first time. She knew Komma from pony rides when she was much younger.

I decided to shoot some video with my new camera, the Xacti E1. It's so tiny I have trouble holding it steady. You can see for yourself.

The First Trim

Thokki is now almost 4 weeks old... time for his first session with the farrier. Just a trim, please.

This isn't just about getting his hoofs trimmed, though. It's just as much getting used to being touched, handled, led, new people and being worked on. It's early training.

Although it is tempting, we do not fool around with him. We pretty much follow the Eyes On, Hands Off approach to letting him be a horse. A lot of new things happened to him today, but as you can see, he was pretty calm and accepting of it all.
